President Donald Trump reportedly told the Secret Service that his one-time cheerleader, now-former Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA), may have tipped off members of the queer-inclusive feminist activist group CODEPINK that they could find him at a Washington, D.C., restaurant that Greene recommended, Axios reported.
The activists publicly heckled Trump last September, along with Vice President J.D. Vance, Secretary of State Marco Rubio, Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth, and other officials as they dined at Joe’s Stone Crab Restaurant. “Free D.C.! Free Palestine!” the activists chanted before calling Trump “the Hitler of our time.” In response, the president walked up and smiled at one of the women recording the confrontation on her phone before the activists were subsequently removed by security agents.

The president was reportedly embarrassed by the group’s ability to get so near him and noted that Greene is friends with CODEPINK’s co-founder. While the activists confronted the administration officials to protest Trump’s pro-war stances, security officials worried about the president’s safety.
While Greene allegedly called the White House to ensure that Trump would be dining at the restaurant on the evening in question, she herself didn’t attend the dinner, which White House officials reportedly found odd.
Both CODEPINK spokesperson Melissa Garriga and Greene denied having any contact about Trump’s restaurant visit. Greene told Axios, “The story you should be writing is why didn’t the Secret Service sweep the restaurant.”
