It’s bad — without the Bunny.

Donald Trump’s MAGA allies denounced the real Super Bowl halftime headliner in September as “a demonic Marxist.” While no actual demons populate the alternative bill, Kid Rock comes close.
Two years ago, the self-taught white rapper, 55, famously shot up a case of Bud Light with an assault rifle to protest the beer brand’s association with a trans woman. “F**k Bud Light,” he said before blowing it up.
He’s also said, “F**k Colin Kaepernick” and called states that voted against Trump “Dumbf**kistan.”
Rock has a long rap sheet for alcohol-related arrests and assault and has faced criticism over lyrics embracing statutory rape. In a previous Super Bowl performance, Rock cut a hole in an American flag and wore it as a poncho.
He counts Donald Trump as a friend.
Brantley Gilbert, 41, is a tattooed mid-level country music star with five singles topping the U.S. Billboard Country Airplay chart to his credit.
He, too, is well known for his trans antipathy; after a fan threw a can of Bud Light onto the stage during a performance, he slammed it to the ground, shouting, “Yeah, f**k that.”
Like Gilbert, Lee Brice is known for his country party style and has had several number-one singles on the Billboard Country Airplay chart, including “I Drive Your Truck,” “I Don’t Dance,” and “One of Them Girls.”
Gabby Barrett, 25, is a country pop singer who got her start on American Idol in 2018. She’s had three songs appear on the Billboard Hot 100, including her debut single “I Hope,” which peaked at number 3.
Following the NFL’s announcement of Bad Bunny’s halftime show, Turning Point-aligned org One Million Moms was one of many MAGA groups to condemn the decision.
OMM urged supporters to skip the performance and watch Turning Point’s “All-American Halftime Show,” which they called “an alternative to the liberal propaganda that the NFL is pushing on viewers.” OMM called it “a celebration of faith, family, and freedom.”
The group has a history with the Puerto Rican rapper.
Bad Bunny appeared alongside Jennifer Lopez and Shakira in 2020, and as OMM reminded supporters, the group “spoke out in February 2020 regarding the inappropriate halftime show starring scantily clad Jennifer Lopez.”
“1MM cannot remember the last time we were looking forward to a Super Bowl Halftime Show and now Turning Point USA is giving us that option,” they said.
That glow on the kitchen stoop will be their kids watching Bad Bunny on their phones, and maybe smoking.
