While Donald Trump already has a reputation for racism as well as a bizarre obsession with Barack Obama, he posted what Democrats are calling a “disgusting” video to social media that portrays the Obamas as apes while claiming that the 2020 election was “rigged.”

The minute-long video posted to Truth Social perpetuates false claims that Dominion Voting Systems helped steal ballots in 2020 to enable Joe Biden to become president. It ends with a short AI-generated clip of Michelle and Barack Obama as apes while the song “The Lion Sleeps Tonight” plays. The video has already been shared thousands of times.

BREAKING: Our RACIST President just posted a video which depicts Barack and Michelle Obama as Apes.

But I’m sure MAGA will tell us it’s the black people who are the real racist ones and that we need to do seeing about that.

“Trump is a vile racist old man,” wrote Rep. Herb Conaway (D-NJ). “The people in the @HouseGOP that don’t speak out on this, I’m going to assume you support this racism.”

Trump has a long history of racism, dating back to the 1970s when he was sued, along with his father, by the Department of Justice for discriminating against Black tenants.

Trump entered the political landscape in the early 2010s when he made claims that Barack Obama was not born in the United States, despite his birth certificate saying he was born in the United States. Trump’s continued obsession with Barack Obama may also be behind his desire to win the Nobel Peace Prize, which Obama won in 2009.

Trump has posted AI-generated videos to social media in the past, often with racist imagery.
