Lauren Boebert mocked for repeating Donald Trump’s “They’re eating the dogs” line
September 12 2024, 08:15

While Donald Trump was getting fact-checked and mocked online for claiming that Haitian immigrants in Ohio are stealing their neighbors’ house pets and eating them, he did manage to get support from one person on the internet: Rep. Lauren Boebert (R-CO).

“THEY’RE EATING THE DOGS, CATS, AND PETS!” the anti-LGBTQ+ politician wrote on X, sharing a video of Trump’s claim.

Conspiracy theory or “joking around”? Either way, she’s one of the first elected officials to accuse President Joe Biden of pedophilia.

Local authorities have already said that there are no reported incidents of this happening. The rumor appears to have started with an unconfirmed post on Facebook and spread throughout the rightwing social media universe as a way to attack Black immigrants and to support Trump’s anti-immigration policies.

This is far from the first time that Boebert has bought into bizarre conspiracy theories. She expressed support for QAnon, the conspiracy theory that says that there is a secret international cabal of pedophilic Satanists led by Hillary Clinton and Tom Hanks that tortures children in order to steal their adrenochrome. She claimed in the past that Spongebob Squarepants is gay. She even said that there are schools in her state that have installed litter boxes for furries to use instead of toilets.

On X, Boebert was mocked for believing in the absurd claim about cats in Springfield, Ohio.

He's melting down and then getting fact checked on it. Keep it going!
