Non-binary furry fighting games fanatic SonicFox has fulfilled a dream: ratioing LibsofTikTok.

The American esports player, whose real name is Dominique McLean, confronted the notoriously anti-LGBTQ+ social media account, operated by right-wing pundit Chaya Raichik, which has targeted educators, influencers and academics who have voiced pro-LGBTQ+ views. Several posts have been connected with anti-LGBTQ+ incidents across the US.

Raichik targeted McLean in a post Sunday (9 November), highlighting a Nike ad campaign which featured the player among other gaming stars.

Seemingly shocked that a sports brand would feature a sports athlete, Raichik wrote on X/Twitter: “Nike’s newest ad campaign features a non-binary furry. This is real.”

Responding, McLean, who is no stranger to roasting the likes of Raichik, said they had always “wanted to ratio LibsofTikTok”.

Ratioing in online spaces refers to the act of receiving more likes and views than another post, typically one with which the user disagrees, as way to prove their take is more popular. And ratio LibsofTikTok SonicFox did, attracting more 59,000 likes compared with Raichik’s measly 3,700.

McLean thanked their fan base for securing the victory, writing: “My supporters are goated.”

Among the fans was Twitch’s most-popular streamer Ludwig, who corrected Raichik’s description of McLean with an X post that read: “Non-binary furry with eight [Evolution Championship Series] titles.”

Since beginning their esports career in 2012, SonicFox has become one of the most-decorated fighting game competitors, earning titles for their skills at Mortal Kombat, Injustice: Gods Among Us, and Dragon Ball FighterZ.

McLean has always been vocal about their identity. In 2021, they appeared on stage at a WePlay Ultimate Fighting League event wearing a “fursona” suit.

While every other player stood in front of depictions of their nation’s flag, McLean positioned themself by the trans flag.

Raichik’s anti-LGBTQ+ campaign has landed her on a list of homophobic “extremists“.

Civil rights organisation the Southern Poverty Law Center added her to its list last year, claiming she “helped revive in right-wing propaganda the anti-LGBTQ+ ‘groomer’ slur, which implies that all LGBTQ+ people are paedophiles”.

A spokesperson for the group said: “She spreads the anti-LGBTQ+ conspiracy theory that ‘groomers’ have infiltrated every social institution with the intent of ‘sexualising’ children.”
