In her latest show of support for Donald Trump, Nicki Minaj has shared an anti-trans White House post set to her “Va Va Voom” song.
The rapper, who at the start of the month responded after being criticised by LGBTQ+ fans for sharing a post praising Donald Trump’s support of Christians in Nigeria, has again shared a White House post.
Set to her song “Va Va Vroom”, the post shared on the official White House TikTok account highlighted some of Trump’s “achievements” so far in his second term.
“No men in women’s sports,” alongside “Our cities are safer than ever” and “World peace”, are included in the post’s listed achievements.
The clip, which is captioned “All we needed was a new president”, is currently showing under Minaj’s “reposted” tab on her TikTok account, where she has more than 22 million followers.
Trump’s executive order, titled “Keeping Men Out of Women’s Sports”, bans trans athletes from women’s categories.
In response, the US Olympic and Paralympic Committee confirmed it would adhere to the order alongside the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA), which has also banned trans women from women’s competitions.
As soon as he returned to office, Trump signed an order stating that the US will only recognise “male” and “female” and these that are “unchangeable”.
During his inaugural address on Monday (20 January), Trump said there were only two genders, “male and female”, adding that he will end “the government policy of trying to socially engineer race and gender into every aspect of public and private life”.
Minaj, who on 1 November faced backlash after writing on X that she felt a “deep sense of gratitude” for Trump and his support for Christianity, responded to the backlash, claiming that her support for Trump’s defence of Christians did not detract from her support of LGBTQ+ rights.
