Veteran news anchor David Shuster isn’t worried about the possibility of the Trump administration doctoring the Epstein Files to remove any incriminating references to the president.

Now that both chambers of Congress have passed the Epstein Files Transparency Act, Shuster wrote on social media that Attorney General Pam Bondi and FBI Director Kash Patel will be “jammed by their own incompetence.”

“There are nearly 1,000 FBI/DOJ staff who looked at the files in March with no compartmentalizing, limits, or controls,” Shuster explained, referencing the fact that Bondi ordered DOJ staff to scour the more than 100,000 pages multiple times earlier this year, according to a July report from the New York Times.

That report explained how three former FBI and Justice Department officials said the employees were directed to “find something, anything, that could be released to the public to satisfy the mounting clamor from the angry legions of President Trump’s supporters.”

That scramble, Shuster explained, will be the country’s saving grace.

“Because if the AG and FBI director try to scrub Trump references now, there will be more than a few FBI/DOJ whistleblowers who will notice the removals and alert Congress. Check mate.”
