Megyn Kelly is latest MAGA pundit to slam Donald Trump for Iran mess: He was “too weak to say no”

Former Fox Host Megyn Kelly recently went off on the president for allowing himself to be “bamboozled” by Israel into starting a pointless war with Iran.

Kelly’s rant shocked folks on social media, given that her rhetoric has become increasingly inflammatory and extreme of late. She is one in a series of right-wingers who have been speaking out against Donald Trump this week after he threatened to wipe out all of Iran if it did not reopen the Strait of Hormuz and after it became clear that the U.S. is not winning this war.

“What led Trump, at 79 years old, to sit there in that Situation Room with Bibi Netanyahu… and buy what that guy was selling hook, line, and sinker when every other president was able to see through that liar?” Kelly told Piers Morgan. “What was it? Because he was told the next day by our own top advisors… that these are lies and that these objectives are not going to be attainable. Don’t believe him.”

She also called the president “too weak to say no” and “too gullible to see through the lies” when he “allowed himself to be pushed into this insane conflict.”

“The goals as stated by Trump when we actually did pull the trigger were all over the board,” she said, “and to this moment, he’s pushing the BS claim that we effected regime change. No, we didn’t! It’s the same regime, just different players.”

She also pointed out that “Iran is more powerful economically” now, given its control over the Strait of Hormuz.

She slammed Trump for touting lies in the name of “saving face to bail off his insane threats about annihilating an entire civilization.”

“So I don’t know how we got here, Piers,” she said. “I’d like to know just as much as anybody else.

In response, some have expressed their surprise at agreeing with Kelly, while others have wondered how Trump‘s behavior could possibly be a surprise.

I can’t believe I find myself agreeing with every word of this from… @megynkelly https://t.co/W1JHZIylSh

I don’t know how people like Megyn Kelly and Carlson, who backed Trump to the hilt in 2024, can now turn round and claim to be shocked and angered that he did this. This is what happens if you invest supreme power in an unbalanced unqualified narcissist and connive in the myth… https://t.co/JwQClamIDv

Trump was not bamboozled by Netanyahu. He trusts foreign intelligence agencies run by autocrats like Netanyahu and Putin more than American intelligence. He told you that 9 years ago in Helsinki. https://t.co/lJcP6buZlH

I can’t believe what I’m hearing.

Even MAGA Trump supporters have had enough of Israel owning the US.
