Dumont, 30, is known for their work on the popular but short-lived ABC Family series Bunheads, as Emma Karn in the NBC series Aquarius, and Lorna Dane/Polaris in the FOX X-Men franchise The Gifted.

They broke out last year playing Robert Oppenheimer’s (Cillian Murphy) sister-in-law in the Oscar-winning Best Picture Oppenheimer from director Christopher Nolan.

The Seattle native started life on stage as a ballet dancer before expanding into musical theatre. At 15, Dumont became an avid roller derby skater and participated in the Los Angeles Derby Dolls training programs. They landed a modeling contract in 2010 with Ford Models.

They’re also an accomplished robotics engineer as a two-time FIRST Tech Challenge team member sponsored by NASA/JPL and Walt Disney Imagineering.

Dumont’s movie credits include Inherent Vice (2014), What Lies Ahead (2019), Wrong Turn (2021), and the critically acclaimed Licorice Pizza from director Paul Thomas Anderson the same year.

The term transmasculine refers to people whose gender identity is male or partially masculine but differs from the sex they were assigned at birth.
