Marjorie Taylor Greene accuses Democrats of putting “gay porn” in school libraries

Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) responded to criticisms of the Republican party’s opposition to free school lunches by accusing Democrats of wanting to put “gay porn” in schools.

Ohio state Rep. Casey Weinstein (D) posted a message over the weekend to X that said: “Things that don’t belong in our public school classrooms: 1) Hungry kids going without food 2) The Ten Commandments.” He was referring to Louisiana’s new mandate that the Ten Commandments be shown in all public school classrooms.

It is unclear if he was referring to any specific policy with his first item, but earlier this year, House Republicans proposed banning states from offering universal free school lunches, which eight states currently do. Also, earlier this year, over a dozen Republican governors – including Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis – rejected federal aid to provide food for children from low-income families during the summer.
