
Fur the Love of Pets — a pet grooming salon in Woodbury, Minnesota — proudly shows its colors all year round. But just in time for Twin Cities Pride last month, the salon gave one proud pup an eye-popping rainbow-colored dye job — using pet-safe fur color options, of course.
Ruby, a dog that belongs to one of the salon’s stylists, received the stunning dye job, which the salon shared on its Facebook page. The dye makes it look like she’s wearing stylish leg warmers, but it’s really just her own fur.

“We will continue to display our alliance.”
Atlas Roy, the salon’s co-owner, told LGBTQ Nation, “[We] love the opportunity to let our customers show their [Pride] as well by providing … some fun furstyles — like rainbow mohawks!” Roy said several other dogs also planned on strutting their own rainbow-colored designs at Loring Park during the festival too.

The salon was recently named one of the best grooming salons in the state by the website The Daily Groomer. Not only does it offer grooming, nail trims, and professional pet photography, but it also caters to pets of all shapes and sizes, including guinea pigs, birds, rabbits, and reptiles.

What better way to show off Pride than with the loyalty and love of a beloved dog? In fact, LGBTQ+ people and their allies have creatively shown their pride through their pets’ help numerous times in the past.
There’s the “openly gay pets” Instagram account where pets play with their rainbow-colored gear. There was also the proud queer dog dads photographed with their playful pups. And who can forget Nellie the Golden Retriever who appeared in the queer school romance series Heartbreaker?
Dogs are known as some of the most loving pets of all time. It only makes sense that they’d help us share our queer love with the world as well!
