MAGA supporters crash in snow while singing along with “YMCA”
January 08 2025, 08:15

A video is going viral that shows three people singing along with a MAGA parody of the gay anthem “YMCA” and then crashing their car.

The people, who were livestreaming as the incident occurred, can be seen singing along with the song, “M-A-G-A! M-A-G-A-A!” as they drive along a snowy highway. Despite the song’s gay history, Donald Trump turned it into his campaign’s theme song, playing it constantly at campaign events and dancing along with it. Trump’s supporters spent the past few months posting videos dancing and singing along with the song.

The band’s frontman claimed the hit dance song isn’t gay, but his gay bandmates remember things differently.

“You know what? Me, personally, I’m already at the Capitol,” the driver, a man referred to as “Frankie” in the video, says. “I’m already yellin’ on my bullhorn, I already got my flag up in the air.”

“Look at these roads,” he continues. “God has cleared a path for us today.”

That was before the car, which had a Trump flag on the hood, skidded to the left and crashed into the median. The phone, which was recording the singing while they were driving, then fell off the dashboard.

“Oh! Oh no!” Frankie shouted.

“S**t. I’m sorry, Jamie. S**t, s**t,” he says to the woman in the passenger seat.

“We’re gonna cut the stream right now,” one of the passengers said. “We are all OK.”

“Yeah, the door is kinda stuck,” Frankie said as he called for help.

Trump’s love of the song that many fans believe refers to gay… fun times at the YMCA led to a resurgence in its popularity this year. Trump even conducted a livestream with conservative influencer Adin Ross where he danced to the song. Ross lost his 7.2 million followers on the live-streaming platform Twitch last year for streaming using homophobic slurs and permitting racist and antisemitic messages in his live chat but managed to build up a following of 1.3 million on the Kick live-streaming app.

After the November elections, Trump supporters uploaded videos online dancing to the song with Trump’s signature dance moves.

It’s unclear from Frankie’s video what version of the song was being played, but a parody “MAGA” version by conservative musician Ricky Rebel is popular on the right.
