Democrat rips Fox News apart for this shocking blunder
February 26 2025, 08:15

Sen. Tina Smith (D-MN) ripped Fox News for confusing her with a different female senator after Smith made network headlines for referring to transphobic billionaire Elon Musk as a “d**k.”

Smith made her comment Saturday after Musk sent an email to tens of thousands of federal employees the same day. Musk’s email demanded that employees summarize their accomplishments in a five-bullet point email response by Monday at 11:59 p.m. or else their non-response would be interpreted as a resignation. Musk sent the email during the weekend, when most of the employees weren’t working.

In a post on X, the social media platform Musk owns, Sen. Smith wrote, “This is the ultimate d**k boss move from Musk. Except he isn’t even the boss, he’s just a d**k.” She added, “I bet a lot of people have had an experience like this with a bad boss – there’s an email in your inbox on Saturday night saying, ‘Prove to me your worthiness by Monday or else.’ I’m on the side of the workers, not the billionaire a**hole bosses.”

Fox News reported on Smith’s insult, but the network made a glaring error: They mistakenly displayed an image of lesbian Sen. Tammy Baldwin (D-WI) rather than Smith. Smith’s hair is more reddish-brown and Baldwin’s is more dirty blonde.

After seeing a video screenshot of the network’s error, Smith wrote on X, “That’s Tammy Baldwin — not me. You can keep track of all the hundreds of white men but it’s the 28 women in the Senate that trips you up, @FoxNews.”

Baldwin later reposted Smith’s message and commented, adding an emoji of two eyes looking sideways. The term “side-eye” and its accompanying physical gesture both convey disapproval or contempt, according to the Oxford English Dictionary.
