Out MSNBC host Rachel Maddow slammed Donald Trump and his top campaign donor, Elon Musk, for trying to sell federal properties, properties where key federal agencies are located, in a bizarre cost-saving measure.

“Trump agency pulls 443 sites off the market in real estate reversal,” Maddow said, reading a headline that ran in Bloomberg. She explained that the General Services Administration put 443 properties up for sale and then pulled them after getting pushback. Those properties included the headquarters for the Departments of Agriculture, Health and Human Services, Justice, Labor, and Veterans Affairs.

“If he does try to defy the courts, he is effectively declaring war on the United States of America,” Maddow said.

She noted that some of the properties had specialized equipment in them and that one of them was a Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) property in Virginia that doesn’t appear on public records.

“They tried to sell the CIA,” Maddow stressed. “The president had his top campaign donor try to sell the CIA!”
