As patrons settled in for a program of Shostakovich and Stravinsky by the National Symphony Orchestra, their attention turned to the first balcony, where Vice President JD Vance and his wife Usha took their seats in front of a grim-faced Secret Service detail.

“You ruined this place!” a voice rang out from somewhere in the hall, a refrain repeated with jeers that went on for nearly a minute.
Trump’s number two sat smugly and acknowledged the attention with a curt wave to nobody in particular.
The outburst was caught on video that’s gone viral, by an audience member who catches her own shocked reaction to Vance’s appearance above.
“Oh, f*ck,” she exclaims under her breath. “Oh, sh*t!”
