April 02 2025, 08:15 Olympian Yared Nuguse, who snatched a bronze medal at the Paris 2024 Olympics, has come out by introducing his boyfriend to the world.
Nuguse made the podium during Paris 2024 1500 metre running event – but as well as a place in history, he’s also lucky in love, today coming out by sharing an adorable snap of him and his boyfriend.
The 25-year-old shared a sweet selfie to Instagram, celebrating his one-year anniversary with his partner, Julian Falco, with the caption, “Introducing my boyfriend, Julian. Can’t believe we’re already one year in my love.”
Nuguse jokingly added, “Don’t act so surprised.”
The carousel of picture includes several of Nuguse and Falco on what appears to be some ultra-cute dates.
The post has been met with a wave of support from Nuguse’s friends and fellow Olympian.
Nikki Hiltz, who also ran in the Paris Olympics, wrote, “Obsessed,” while Matt Llano, another out gay distance runner commented, “Love thiz – you will inspire so many!!!”
Olympic bobsledder Chris Kinney simply wrote, “Yay.”
And pole vaulter Olivia Fabry asked for “more Julian content.”
Yared Nuguse joins a long line of queer Olympians; ‘Team LGBTQ+’ finished in 7th place at the Paris Olympics.
The contingent of nearly 200 out LGBTQ+ athletes managed to score 42 medals.
This included Great Britain’s diver Tom Daley who snatched bronze in his final Games, bisexual track and field star Sha’Carri Richardson, who won a silver medal in the 100-meter sprint and Italian Alice Bellandi, who secured a gold in Judo – smooching her girlfriend to celebrate.
