Marjorie Taylor Greene called a “butch body bigot” by protestor at her chaotic town hall
April 17 2025, 08:15

Led away by police, a protestor yelled, “You’re a butch body bigot!” at anti-LGBTQ+ Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) during the legislator’s chaotic town hall yesterday.

The comment referenced an insult made against Greene by Rep. Jasmine Crockett (D-TX) during a 2024 committee hearing. Crockett has since trademarked the insult and plans on selling apparel with the insult printed on it, much to Greene’s displeasure.

“How much did you make off of people’s despair?” she asked Greene.

During Greene’s town hall event last night in Acworth, Georgia, police tased one protester and forcibly removed at least four others as Greene smiled and waved “Bye!” and her supporters applauded. Greene said, “There’s no reason for screaming, yelling, ridiculous, outrageous protesting,” adding that she “refused to tolerate their selfish attempts to disrupt an event that was for all of my constituents,” Rolling Stone reported.

Greene claimed that federal immigration and law enforcement officials have been deporting “illegal alien criminals,” “cartels and terrorists” who have infiltrated the nation. A female protester then rose and mentioned Kilmar Abrego Garcia, a 29-year-old father of three who was mistaken as an MS-13 gang member, kidnapped by federal agents, and sent to a Salvadoran torture prison without due process. The U.S. Supreme Court ruled 9-0 that the president must return Garcia to the U.S., but his administration has refused.

While police immediately began removing the female protestor, she yelled at Greene, “You’re a butch body bigot!” Her comment was a paraphrasing of Crockett’s May 16 insult against Greene in which she said Greene had a “bleach-blonde, bad-built, butch body.” Crockett later said she “meant no harm” to LGBTQ+ people by using the word “butch” as an insult.

Crockett filed a trademark on the phrase and has pledged to produce a “Crockett Clapback Collection” featuring comebacks that she has said during her freshman term as a lawmaker. To promote the forthcoming collection, Crockett used an AI image generator to create a picture of a man wearing a t-shirt with the aforementioned insult.

This catchphrase will be printed on hats, hoodies, socks, and T-shirts, The New Republic reported. Crockett says proceeds “will go to ensuring that we have a Democratic House!”

So we are going to drop “A Crockett Clapback Collection.” This collection will feature various swag that includes random things I’ve said. The money will go to ensuring that we have a Democratic House! Give me a little time to really get the swag online etc., but B6 will drop… pic.twitter.com/7RnPQ4jVHs

In response to the initial insult, Greene posted a May 20 video of herself weightlifting and wrote, “Yes, my body is built and strong. NOT with nips, tucks, plastic, or silicone, but through a healthy lifestyle.”
