On Wednesday last week, the United Kingdom’s Supreme Court ruled that trans women are not women under the 2010 Equality Act. This decision has outraged many in the LGBTQ+ community, leading to protests against the ruling being organized in various cities across England, Wales, and Scotland.
London saw the highest turnout on Saturday. A hastily assembled coalition of 24 groups crowded Parliament Square, leaving police and organizers bewildered by the many thousands of people bolstering the crowd, waving flags of pink, white, and blue in demonstration of their anger and passion.
