Pedro Pascal slams “henious loser” JK Rowling for her smug celebration of an anti-trans ruling
April 25 2025, 08:15

Actor and passionate trans ally Pedro Pascal expressed utter repulsion at Harry Potter author JK Rowling’s recent social media post celebrating an anti-trans decision by the U.K. Supreme Court.

After the court ruled that trans women are not to be considered women under the 2010 Equality Act, Rowling posted a photo of herself on a balcony overlooking the ocean. In it, she’s holding a cocktail and smoking a cigar while wearing a self-satisfied smirk.

In response to an Instagram reel slamming Rowling’s cruelty from writer and activist Tariq Ra’ouf, Pacal commented, “Awful disgusting SH*T is exactly right. Heinous LOSER behavior.”

Pascal has long been outspoken in support of his sister, Lux Pascal, who is a trans actress and activist. He recently posted to Instagram, “A world without trans people has never existed and never will.”

Pascal added in the comments, “I can’t think of anything more vile and small and pathetic than terrorizing the smallest, most vulnerable community of people who want nothing from you, except the right to exist.”

Ra’ouf called Rowling’s recent post “some serious Voldemort villain sh*t.”

“She’s just so proud of all of the work she’s been doing over the last few years to stoke hatred and fear into the general public about a very small minority population that’s already some of the most misunderstood people on the earth.”

Ra’ouf called for a massive boycott of everything Harry Potter, telling followers to send a stark message to Rowling and anyone who works with her that “that awful disgusting sh*t, that has consequences.”

On April 16, the Supreme Court ruled that trans women should not legally be considered women based on the 2010 Equality Act, but it did say trans people still have protections against discrimination under the law.

The case was a challenge brought by the anti-trans group For Women Scotland against the Scottish government, where the Scottish government argued that trans women who have obtained a gender recognition certificate (GRC) should be treated like women and have access to services and protections set aside for women. The case was a challenge to a 2018 bill passed by the Scottish Parliament that required gender balance on public sector boards. It said that trans women could be counted as part of the quotas for women imposed by the law.

Trans rights advocates denounced the ruling. Scottish Trans leader Vic Valentine said that it “reverses twenty years of understanding on how the law recognizes trans men and women with Gender Recognition Certificates.”
