Ellen DeGeneres has given fans a peek at what her new life is like in the English countryside.
Chat show host DeGeneres and actor wife Portia de Rossi upped sticks and headed for England after Donald Trump won a second term as president. Their move to the Cotswolds began tumultuously, with DeGeneres having to deny fan worries that her home had been affected by flooding in the area.
In February, there were reports that they were considering leaving the property, after locking horns with locals over a single-storey extension on their land. The pair have since moved to a different property, the Daily Mail reported.
And it seems they are both happy with life in the countryside. “Some people have a dream of becoming a farmer, clearly our dream was to become a landscape maintenance crew with a little farming on the side,” they wrote on Instagram. In a clip, shared on Wednesday (7 May), DeGeneres is seen in jeans and a t-shirt as she trims bushes, saying: “Ow, these are sharp even through the gloves.”
De Rossi is then shown using a garden trimmer to tidy up another bush, while DeGeneres calls out: “Good job, baby,” before beginning to feed their chickens.
The pair giggle as one chicken, called Linda, runs towards them.
A few days earlier, the couple shared another glimpse of their rural life in a video showing DeGeneres sitting on a mower, which at one point had to be pushed by a farmhand.
In March, DeGeneres put one of her last remaining homes in the plush Californian enclave of Montecito up for sale, with an asking price of $5 million (£3.9 million). The following month, she shared a look at the view from her home in the Cotswolds.
At the end of last year, Netflix dropped Ellen DeGeneres: For Your Approval, her first major body of work since her controversial talk show came to an end.
