Hamilton creator Lin-Manuel Miranda has announced Drag Race‘s Jinkx Monsoon and Glee star Darren Criss for a one-off performance in a spinoff of the iconic musical.

In light of the tenth anniversary of the groundbreaking Broadway musical, Hamilton creator Lin-Manuel Miranda has confirmed that “Ham4Ham” is returning with a new outdoor show on Tuesday (13 May) at 4 pm outside the Richard Rodgers Theatre, Broadway, New York. 

First launched in 2015, “Ham4Ham” included performances and a daily lottery to win front-row seats to Miranda’s Broadway production.

As part of the ‘show before the show’, cast members from Hamilton and fellow performers from other Broadway productions would perform outside the venue as hopefuls drew from the ticket lottery. 

This year, the performance aspect will return with a cast featuring RuPaul’s Drag Race favourite Monsoon, who is currently starring in Pirates! The Penzance Musical and Maybe Happy Ending star and Tony Award nominee Criss joining the line-up. 

The pair also confirmed the news, taking to their Instagram Stories to share details for the upcoming performance.

Also set to appear is Criss’s co-star Helen J Shen of the same production, and the cast of Buena Vista Social Club.

“It’s #Hamilten, it’s been an amazing theatre season, and it’s nice out, let’s have a #Ham4Ham show,” Miranda wrote on Instagram alongside a photoshopped image of the announced stars outside a Hamilton show.

For those who are unable to attend in person, Miranda confirmed that they will livestream the show from Hamilton’s official Instagram account. 

It is not clear whether the in-person “Ham4Ham” lottery aspect will be a part of the festivities, as the show previously launched a digital lottery where “$10 tickets are available for all performances of Hamilton”. 

For those across the pond wanting to get a slice of the action in the room where it happens, the UK tour is currently in Liverpool until 7 June, before hitting Sunderland, Plymouth and Norwich.
