May 14 2025, 08:15

The Eurovision Grand Final is drawing ever closer, and here are all the contestants who have qualified for Eurovision 2025 after the first Semi-Final.

With Basel hosting the event following Switzerland’s victory in 2024 with Nemo’s “The Code”, the first Semi-Final took place on Tuesday (13 May) with 10 contestants fighting for a place in the Grand Final.

Several queer artists are representing their respective countries, and 37 countries are participating in this year’s contest. Montenegro is rejoining for the first time since 2022.

Ahead of the second semi-final on Thursday (15 May) and the Grand Final on Saturday (17 May), let’s take a look at who has qualified so far.

Who has qualified for Eurovision 2025?

The “big five”, France, Germany, Italy, Spain and the UK have automatically qualified for the Grand Final, alongside last year’s winner, Switzerland.

The next 10 countries that have qualified for Eurovision 2025 in order of announcement include:

  1. Norway – “Lighter” by Kyle Alessandro
  2. Albania – “Zjerm” by Shkodra Elektronike
  3. Sweden – “Bara Bada Bastu” by KAJ
  4. Iceland – “RÓA” by VAEB
  5. Netherlands – “C’est La Vie” by Claude
  6. Poland – “GAJA” by Justyna Steczkowska
  7. San Marino – “Tutta L’Italia” by Gabry Ponte
  8. Estonia – “Espresso Macchiato” by Tommy Cash
  9. Portugal – “Deslocado” by NAPA
  10. Ukraine – “Bird of Pray” by Ziferblat

The five countries missing out on a place in the Eurovision Grand Final include:

  1. Slovenia – “How Much Time Do We Have Left” by Klemen
  2. Belgium – “Strobe Lights” by Red Sebastian
  3. Azerbaijan – “Run With U” by Mamagama
  4. Croatia – “Poison Cake” by Marko Bošnjak
  5. Cyprus – “Shh” by Theo Evan

Betting odds suggest that this year’s competition will see two neighbouring countries battling it out for victory. Austria has a 20 per cent chance of winning and Sweden with a 36 per cent chance of winning, as per 6 May 2025 odds.

The second Eurovision Semi-Finals takes place on Thursday, and the Grand Final airs on Saturday.
