Dearest gentle reader, Bridgerton has officially been renewed by Netflix for seasons five and six following its upcoming season four, and the ton is waiting with bated breath.
The streaming site took to social media on Wednesday (14 May) to announce the launch date of season four of the period drama, and confirm there’s more Bridgerton goodness where that came from.
“NEWS: Bridgerton has been renewed for Season 5 and Season 6 — and Season 4 will premiere in 2026,” Netflix wrote on X.
The brand also posted a letter from Lady Whistledown to Instagram, which read: “Rarely is this author granted the opportunity to share with you such information.
“It is with great pleasure I can announce Bridgerton shall return for Seasons 5 and 6. Do celebrate accordingly,” the note continued. “And in the meantime, do prepare yourselves, for Bridgerton Season 4 shall debut in 2026. It would seem this author is going to be quite busy,” the announcement concluded.
Fans of series one to three will recall that Daphne (Phoebe Dynevor), Francesca (Hannah Dodd), Anthony (Jonathan Bailey) and Colin (Luke Newton) have all met their match on the marriage mart. Season four, however, will centre on Benedict (Luke Thompson), who meets a mysterious Lady in Silver (Yerin Ha) at his mother, Dowager Viscountess Violet Bridgerton’s (Ruth Gemmell) masquerade ball.
Also returning to season 4 are series regulars Bailey, Adjoa Andoh (Lady Danbury), Julie Andrews (Lady Whistledown), Lorraine Ashbourne (Mrs. Varley), Simone Ashley (Kate Bridgerton), Nicola Coughlan (Penelope Bridgerton), Dodd (Francesca Stirling), Gemmell (Violet Bridgerton), Florence Hunt (Hyacinth Bridgerton), Martins Imhangbe (Will Mondrich), Claudia Jessie (Eloise Bridgerton), Newton (Colin Bridgerton), Emma Naomi (Alice Mondrich), Golda Rosheuvel (Queen Charlotte), Hugh Sachs (Brimsley), Will Tilston (Gregory Bridgerton), and Polly Walker (Portia Featherington).
Also returning to the series is Victor Alli (Lord John Stirling), Masali Baduza (Michaela Stirling), Daniel Francis (Lord Marcus Anderson), while Katie Leung (Lady Araminta Gun), Michelle Mao (Rosamund Li), and Isabella Wei (Posy Li) are joining the franchise for the first time.
