Jade Thirlwall officially made her solo performance debut at BBC Radio 1’s Big Weekend, and the singer’s outfit proudly nodded to the trans community.

JADE, as she is now known, rose to fame in The X Factor-helmed girl band Little Mix, took to the New Music Stage at the Liverpool-based festival on Sunday (25 May) to head up her first-ever solo show since launching her solo career

With the pending release of her debut album, THAT’S SHOWBIZ BABY!, the star performed her hit singles “FUFN (F**k You for Now)”, “IT girl” and “Angel of my Dreams”, as well as a Little Mix medley which included “Shout Out To My Ex”, “Woman Like Me”, “Sweet Melody” and “Touch”.

And the musician made sure to stand up for trans rights while she was at it. Thirlwall donned a custom-made AGRO STUDIO Anglomania-inspired look, which featured cream chiffon sleeves and a “deconstructed skirt”. Th

e brand’s iconic tartan pattern also showcased the colours of the Trans Pride Flag, with the studio confirming the intention on Instagram. Responding to the post, JADE commented: “You did it again!” alongside a bouquet of flowers and heart emojis.

This isn’t the first time the fashion house has made a nod to trans rights in its designs. AGRO STUDIO was behind Remember Monday’s “Regal British” Eurovision opening ceremony designs, which appeared to echo the Trans Pride flag, too.

Elsewhere during her performance, JADE appeared to hint that a Little Mix reunion could be on the way. The star changed the iconic lyric “I bet they’re gonna break up” from the band’s track “Wasabi”, to “It’s a hiatus!”

It’s been reported that the singer garnered one of the biggest crowds for a New Music set, with “hundreds” leaving HAIM on the main stage to catch JADE perform, according to the Mirror

The star is set to take to the Mighty Hoopla main stage on Saturday (31 May) for her next performance.

JADE’s new album THAT’S SHOWBIZ BABY! is set to be released on 12 September, while her tour will kick off on 8 October.
