“Delusional” GOP Rep. says climate change is clearly fake since God controls the sun

Anti-LGBTQ+ Rep. Mary Miller (R-IL) claimed she knows climate change is a liberal scam because it’s actually God who controls the weather.

“God controls the climate because he controls the sun and the sun controls the weather, primarily,” Miller said in a video decrying Green New Deal initiatives.

“Climate change is a sham,” she also said, echoing sentiments she has long been spreading (a 2024 video shows Miller referring to the “communist environmental movement” and the “green bad deal”).

Many on social media mocked Miller for her ignorance about the causes of climate change and also for her hypocrisy in seeming to believe that God is okay with humans using fossil fuels but not renewable energy.

So God intended us to design an entire industry based around extracting oil and then processing it in very particular ways that release very particular emissions into the air that he specifically designed to not effect his plan… And there is 0 chance we missed any part of that?
