‘Met Gala of Massachusetts’ model call at Worcester Art Museum’s Pride Fete
June 06 2025, 08:15

WORCESTER — Queer AF, the art and fashion show fundraiser for Love Your Labels, is seeking models for its 2025 fashion show, which will take place on Friday, Sept. 5, during Worcester Pride Week.

A model call/kickoff party will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. on Sunday, June 8, at the Worcester Art Museum (55 Salisbury St., Worcester) in conjunction with the Museum’s Pride Celebration. The event is free and open to the public. Anyone interested in modeling can attend to get measured and participate in a runway workshop. Not interested in modeling? Come for community and art. There will be small bites, a cash bar, and music.

The Worcester Art Museum’s Pride Celebration runs from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Admission is free, and throughout the day there will be poetry readings, art-making activities, a drag performance by Dale LePage and Harley Queen, both of whom have performed at Queer AF previously, a Love Your Labels Drag Story Time session, and more.

During the kickoff party, Queer AF will unveil its theme for the 2025 show. The Queer AF fashion show uplifts people of all sizes, genders, and abilities, elevates queer artists, and brings people together for a night of community, creativity, and joy.

All proceeds of Queer AF benefit Love Your Labels, a Worcester-based nonprofit organization that supports LGBTQIA+ youth and community in Central Massachusetts as they explore identity and expression. Love Your Labels offers programs like Threads, where high school-age youth explore personal expression, gender, and sexuality through fashion design, and Drag Story Time for families at BirchTree Bread Company.

“Our community modeling program has become one of the most beautiful parts of our Queer AF show. We’ve heard so many stories of the impact walking that runway has had on folks, from helping them build the confidence to try drag for the first time to emotional stories on the role that has played in folks coming out journey,” says Joshua Croke, the founder of Love Your Labels.

“Our runway is truly a celebration of the diverse identities, bodies, and experiences within our community and beyond. If you’ve never walked a runway before, join us. You deserve it.”
