The self-loathing Log Cabin Republicans (LCR) are hosting another cocktail party in June, complete with “passed hors d’oeuvres” and a “premium” open bar.

The excuse this time? “Pride and Patriotism.”

The gay Republican party comes as President Trump declined to acknowledge Pride Month with an official proclamation this year, just as he did in his first term.  

Despite the absence of an official blessing, LCR New York City claims sponsorship of the event by a big collection of Republican organizations, including the Manhattan Republican Party, the Young Republicans National Federation, the New York Senate Republican Assembly Campaign Committee, the Metropolitan Republican group, the New York State Republican Party, The Women’s National Republican Club, and the College Republican New York Federation.

A check of social media accounts reveals none of the named groups are promoting the event.

The “PrideRight” party, scheduled for Saturday, June 28 at 6 p.m., coincides with New York City’s annual Pride celebration.

“You’re invited to our signature event of the year — at the iconic TRUMP TOWER!” LCR NYC exclaims on the invite.

“Join us for an unforgettable evening in one of New York City’s most legendary venues. Enjoy passed hors d’oeuvres and a PREMIUM OPEN BAR as you connect with LGBT conservatives and allies from across the Tri-State area.”

“Mingle with candidates, special guests, and influential voices shaping the political conversation. A full lineup of GUEST SPEAKERS will be announced soon, so stay tuned!”

Tickets are $175, a low entry for a typical LCR event, but one that might attract younger gay Republicans to party with “pride and patriotism” at Trump’s gilded tower.

Where in the building the party takes place has yet to be revealed, just like the “full lineup of GUEST SPEAKERS.” Could the all-caps description be a hint?

It’s unlikely Trump would make an appearance, but his wife might — for a fee.

Log Cabin Republicans have funneled hundreds of thousands of dollars to First Lady Melania Trump for her previous appearances with the group.

Mrs. Trump was paid $237,500 for a “speaking engagement” hosted by the group at the president’s Mar-a-Lago club last year during the campaign, though the source of the payment wasn’t disclosed.

Campaign finance records indicate that Mrs. Trump was also paid $250,000 for a Log Cabin Republican event in December 2022.

Ric Grenell, Trump’s loyal gay toadie and now the president’s cultural enforcer at the Kennedy Center, came under scrutiny last year for his involvement in the payments.

Grenell coordinated an “unprecedented” gay and lesbian voter outreach initiative with Log Cabin Republicans in 2024, and netted another quarter-million dollar speaking fee for Melania Trump through his Fix California group in December 2022.   

Earlier this year, Log Cabin Republicans in Palm Springs were mocked for promoting “A Normal Gay Social” in the desert city, a nod to the descriptor then-vice-presidential candidate J.D. Vance used for potential gay Trump voters. The owner of the venue, and Barbra Streisand’s longtime personal chef, withdrew from hosting the event.
