Celebs Go Dating star Tom Read Wilson has paid tribute to former co-star Eden Blackman, who died at the weekend.

Blackman, a dating expert who featured alongside Wilson and Nadia Essex on the E4 matchmaking programme, died on Saturday (21 June) after a “long illness”, his family said in a statement. He was 57.

“Eden blazed through life with charm, mischief and a fire that was entirely his own, magnetic, stylish, sharp, impossibly handsome and always up for the adventure,” the family said. “He championed people with sincerity, humour and encouragement, always wanting others to feel seen at their best [and was] fun, unpredictable, vivid and full of life.”

Wilson, who was the client co-ordinator on the show, said: “I will always be hugely grateful for his kindness and generosity of spirit. My deepest condolences at this heart-breaking time.”

Several other celebrities also paid tribute to Blackman.

Paul C Brunson, another a dating expert on the show, said that while he never met Blackman, because they featured on it at different periods, they were “forever linked” through the programme. “Sending love and deepest condolences… may he rest in paradise,” he wrote.

Broadcaster Fearne Cotton described Blackwell as the “most charismatic, beautiful human”, while the musician Example said: “Eden believed in me years before I had any playlist action at the big radio stations. Many fond memories. A truly unique energy.”

And singer Tallia Storm, who appeared on Celebs Go Dating in 2018, added: “Heart-broken to read this. Sending all my love to Eden’s family and everyone who knew him.

“Working with him was such a special time, he was truly amazing, full of unforgettable memories, and [he] always looked out for me. Rest easy, Eden. Sending love and condolences to those who lives he lit up.”
