A woman’s incredible sign mocking an anti-LGBTQ+ protestor at Pride has gone viral on social media.
A photo posted by popular Facebook account Have A Gay Day has received more than 330,000 reactions and over 30,000 shares.
The photo shows what appears to be an anti-LGBTQ+ protestor, who seems to be a white cisgender man, leaning on a Pride-coloured sign that reads Proverbs 16:18: “Pride goes before destruction and a haughty spirit before a fall.”
This verse, which warns of the “sin” of pride, and is often cited by religious critiques of the LGBTQ+ community, links to verse 19: “Better to live humbly with the poor than to share plunder with the proud.”
Standing beside the protester is a pro-Pride demonstrator wearing a rainbow-coloured tutu, socks, top, flower necklace, and crown. With one hand on her hip, she boldly holds a sign with an arrow pointing toward the Proverbs sign.
‘It’s always the ones you most expect’

The sign reads: “Statistically more likely to be a sex predator more than anyone here.”
A HM Prison and Probation Service report from 2022–2023 stated: “As in previous years, the prison population has remained predominantly male, white, in their 30s, heterosexual, and of the Christian faith.”Responses under the photo praise the woman holding the sign as an “absolute queen”.
Another response read: “I… have never wanted a sign to carry around more in my life.”
“It’s always the ones you most expect,” another joked of the sign pointing towards the anti-Pride protestor.
“She ain’t wrong,” another comment with more than 250 likes reads, while another read: “But why is he looking like ‘what exactly do they know?”.
