When it comes to summers in Provincetown, there are certain things you can rely on: beautiful beach days, sequin-filled shows, late-night lines outside Spiritus and a lavish lawn party to support GLBTA Legal Advocates & Defenders (GLAD Law), which has been advancing equal rights for LGBTQ+ people for decades.
This year’s shindig takes place Saturday, July 26, from 4 to 7 p.m., in Provincetown, and it’s GLAD Law’s 44th incredible Summer Party. Varla Jean Merman will serve as emcee, with Poppy Champlain as auctioneer.
This Boston-based organization has made history more than once, establishing important legal protections for people with HIV/AIDS and winning marriage equality at the US Supreme Court. GLAD’s important fight goes on today, with LGBTQ advances under threat at state and federal levels and trans people under attack.
Show up this summer for GLAD, just as it always shows up for the community, and help ensure the brightest minds in law can always put our best case forward.
