Folks on social media are having a field day after an utter meme fail by viciously anti-trans Rep. Nancy Mace (R-SC).
Mace tried to promote job growth under Donald Trump by capitalizing on the discourse surrounding the megaviral Coldplay concert moment in which Astronomer CEO Andy Byron was caught on the jumbotron having an affair with Astronomer’s chief people officer, Kristin Cabot.

Nancy Mace positioned herself as a justice warrior for taking on a dropdown menu on a university website. Many people didn’t agree.
The moment has captivated the Internet, but Mace quickly made it clear she’s not quite in on the joke. The congresswoman posted a screenshot of the moment Byron and Cabot were caught embracing. Mace labeled Byron as “Trump’s Economy” and Cabot as “American Born Workers.”

But social media users were quick to mock Mace – who has built her entire brand around hating on marginalized people – for the fact that the screenshot was captured seconds before the pair pushed themselves apart and scrambled to hide from the camera.
“I think you’re saying Trump’s economy is secretly screwing American born workers, and everyone involved is going to lose their jobs,” one person replied.

“The best part about your post is that within hours of this picture, they were both out of a job,” another person wrote, referring to the fact that the pair has been put on leave while the situation is investigated further.

One blogger explained to readers, “No, your eyes do not deceive you. In an attempt to highlight increased employment numbers, Mace really thought it was a good idea to use the image of two adulterous execs to promote the benefits of Trump’s economy for America’s working class.”
“Somehow, she completely missed the fact that the cute-looking relationship in that screencap is actually going to be the cause of a lot of pain for a lot of people — which doesn’t really seem like the sort of message a pro-Trump politician ought to associate with Trump’s policies. (Did she really not have anyone on her staff who could’ve pointed that out to her?)”
Another X user joked, “Considering [Trump has] cheated on all his wives it makes sense that the American worker is also a side piece.

The nonprofit Progress Arizona also joined in on mocking Mace, replying to her post, “It’s true; Trump is screwing American workers when he’s not supposed to be.”
