Roan also explained her strategy for keeping ticket prices more affordable and keeping them out of the hands of scalpers. She and her team have partnered with Cash App to offer 15% cash back on tickets purchased using the Cash App Visa debit card, and with Fair AXS where fans can register to buy tickets by Sunday, July 27. The company aims to stop bots and scalpers so that only actual fans have a chance to get tickets when they go on sale between August 5–7.
Since releasing her debut album, The Rise and Fall of a Midwest Princess, in 2023, Roan has continued to put out new music. She had described her breakthrough 2024 single, “Good Luck, Babe!” as “the first song of the next chapter” of her career. The song earned her three Grammy nominations earlier this year, and Roan took home the award for Best New Artist.
In March, she released “The Giver,” and has been teasing another new song, “The Subway.” Roan debuted the track at during her performance at the Governors Ball Music Festival in New York City last summer. Earlier this week, a fan account posted what appeared to be a clip from the song’s music video.
During a red-carpet interview at the Grammy Awards in early February, Roan acknowledged the state of transgender rights in the U.S. in just the first month of the current presidential administration.
“It’s brutal right now,” Roan said, “but trans people have always existed, and they will forever exist, and they will never, no matter what happens, take trans joy away, and that has to be protected more than anything.”
“I would not be here without trans girls,” she added. “So, just know that pop music is thinking about you and cares about you. And I’m trying my best to best to stand up for you in every way that I can.”
