Immediately after Puerto Rican reggaeton artist Bad Bunny was announced as the halftime show performer for the 2026 Super Bowl, right-wingers began trying to “cancel” the cis-het ally by pointing out his refusal to sing in English, his past performances in drag, and his statements against Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE).

And the outrage machine is not slowing down. This morning, anti-LGBTQ+ Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) slammed Bad Bunny after the singer joked while hosting Saturday Night Live that folks have “four months to learn” Spanish before the Super Bowl.

Greene called the upcoming halftime show “perverse” and “unwanted” and used the moment to promote her legislation vying to make English the country’s official language.

“And the NFL needs to stop having demonic sexual performances during its halftime shows,” she concluded.
