Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) is, like many on the right at the moment, mad at Netflix. Now she’s saying she canceled her Netflix subscription over a show that Netflix itself canceled in 2022.
Anti-LGBTQ+ hate influencer Chaya Raichik – who goes by “Libs of TikTok” online – posted a clip from the 2020 Netflix series The Babysitters Club. One episode that aired in the first season showed a transgender child, and Raichik posted the scene where the character Mary Anne Spier, played by Malia Simphiwe Baker, stood up for the trans girl, Bailey, who was being misgendered in a medical setting.

“HOLY S**T,” Raichik wrote, calling the scene “INSANITY” and accusing Netflix of pushing “TRANSGENDERISM on KIDS.” Many on the right believe – contrary to common sense and science – that seeing transgender people on TV or in books will turn kids transgender themselves.
“Yep canceled,” Greene wrote while sharing the clip.
