Jake Paul responds to AI deepfake videos that show him coming out as gay
October 08 2025, 08:15

Boxer and influencer Jake Paul has responded to a series of viral AI deepfake videos falsely depicting him coming out as gay.

Deepfakes are videos, picture or audio clips that have been made using artificial intelligence to look real, often for nefarious purposes.

One image showed Paul sitting in front of a Pride flag while trying to apply fake eyelashes. Another depicted him wearing multi-coloured eyeshadow and coming out as gay, showing Pride-themed boxing gloves to viewers.

“Feels good to finally breathe and be myself,” the AI-generated Paul says.

Additional videos show him in a pink ballet costume and in full glam makeup.

‘It’s not funny’

Taking to TIkTok to respond, the real Paul, looking serious, said: “It’s honestly not even a joke,” but then he continued in a camp tone when a friend asks if he wanted a Celsius drink.

In another post, he shared his fiancée voicing concerns about the video. “I don’t like it, it’s not funny,” Dutch speed-skater Jutta Leerdam is heard saying.

While a number of viewers admitted that they couldn’t tell the difference between the real Paul and his deepfake, others pointed out that his tattoos and some fingers were missing.

Judge Rob Rinder recently called a deepfake of himself “terrifying”. The image purported to show him marrying friend Rylan Clark.
