December 23 2025, 08:15 Chris Hughes, who is iconically dating JoJo Siwa, celebrates his birthday today (22 December).
The now-33-year-old is in good company as he shares his birthday with Meghan Trainor and her friend Chris Olsen.
The horse racing pundit, former Love Island and Celebrity Big Brother (CBB) star, was recently one of the stars on the 20th series of Celebrity Masterchef.
Aside from his own television career, he has become well-known within the LGBTQ+ community for dating JoJo Siwa, who he met while on CBB.
To celebrate his special day we have highlighted a few of there reasons he’s the ultimate ally to the LGBTQ+ community.
During their time on CBB the pair were faced with insults from disgraced housemate Mickey Rourke, whose inappropriate comments led to him being removed from the house.
In one episode, The Wrestler star Rourke suggested to “Karma” singer Siwa that he would be able to turn her straight. After she rebuffed his insinuation, he then told Hughes that he will be “vote the lesbian out real quick”.
Hughes was extremely compassionate towards Siwa following the incident, ensuring she was never without a warm embrace.

In an Instagram post shared in October to mark their first red carpet together, Hughes called out the culture of bullying in reference to the abuse Siwa faces. Siwa responded, writing: “Thank you, baby. Beautiful week with you.”
Siwa even began changing the lyrics from “Bette Davis Eyes” to “Chris Hughes’ Eyes” while performing her cover on tour, meaning much of the LGBTQ+ community was belting out his name. Major slay.
Due to dating Hughes, Siwa has been forced to combat accusations she’s gone back into the closet by entering a relationship with a man. But Hughes has been quick to defend her.
In a July Interview with Fabulous Magazine, Hughes leapt to Siwa’s defence and reassured her fans that she is “still part of the LGBTQ+ community”.
“I’m very respectful of everything she’s been through. That’s her own personal journey,” he said.
‘Sexuality can be fluid’
He admitted that the hate his girlfriend receives upsets him, adding: “Sexuality can be fluid, and you should be able to love who you want without judgement. She is still part of the LGBTQ+ community, she always will be. And while there’s been negativity, there has been so much love.”
Being called gay doesn’t bother LGBTQ+ ally Chris Hughes
In the same interview, he addressed social media dwellers who call him gay. He shared: “I’ve had more people call me ‘gay’ in the last two months of my life than ever before. But it doesn’t bother me – as long as people aren’t nasty, opinions are fine.
“I may be feminine in the way I do things, but I wouldn’t change the way I am for anything. I cry a lot, but we live in a world where toxic masculinity exists, and there isn’t an ounce of that in my body.”
He added that crying is his “release” and he refuses to let anyone tell him that it makes him “less of a man”.
