Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth has been scorned across the internet for his garish grandstanding over the war in Iran.
Hegseth has been mocked in the past for acting like “a 12-year-old playing army,” as Sen. and Navy veteran Mark Kelly (D-AZ) once put it. He has spent his time as Defense Secretary prioritizing machismo and chest puffing, vowing to make the military stronger by essentially making it more masculine.

We are punching them while they’re down, which is exactly how it should be.”
Many expressed their horror at this moment.
