Former White House Press Secretary and current MS Now host Jen Psaki was distraught as she reported on two stories alleging deep corruption in the current administration.
First, she discussed an NBC News report about the ties between a private prison company, GEO Group, and Corey Lewandowski, an advisor to former Department of Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem. The report said that Lewandowski asked GEO Group for money in exchange for helping them secure government contracts, which is essentially bribery. Lewandowski’s representatives deny the story.

“Oh boy, that is a hell of a story,” Psaki proclaimed after explaining the GEO Group/Lewandowski allegation. “And that is just one of the stories, just one about a major alleged grift we got today.”
She then explained how the president’s eldest son invested in a company that processes rare earth minerals at a time when the administration was trying to use funding for an HIV prevention program to extort the nation of Zambia into giving corporations more access to those minerals. Just after he invested in the company, they got a $620 million government contract.
“How lucky for them, isn’t it?” Psaki noted sarcastically.
“While the rare earth magnet startup was only valued at about $200 million when Don Jr.’s firm invested in it, today, people familiar with the matter told Bloomberg that the startup is now valued at nearly $2 billion,” Psaki said.
Everyone involved denies any corruption.
Then she got into another story about possible corruption involving the president’s son-in-law, Jared Kushner, who she said is seeking investments for his private firm from the Middle East while negotiating for the United States as a Middle East envoy.
