CNN’s chief data analyst, Harry Enten, declared that Donald Trump is “doing absolutely awful in the minds of the American people,” hitting “new lows” in polls.
Enten took viewers through various polls that showed the president’s record lows when it comes to net approval ratings on the economy.

Donald Trump tried to call Pete Buttigieg dumb. It backfired immediately.
“We’re talking about hitting record lows for Donald Trump in either his first term, which, of course, ended back in 2021, or his second term, which is ongoing right now,” he explained. “The bottom line is Donald Trump is at the lowest point ever in either of his terms.”
Enten also said Trump currently has the “worst economic net approval ratings at this point among presidents since 1977” and is also “the worst for any president at their second term at this point.”
“Donald Trump is setting the types of records you, simply put, do not want to set,” he said.
Polls also show that more voters blame Republicans than Democrats for economic pain caused by the shutdown. Independents, he added, are also overwhelmingly more likely to blame Trump.
“The grade for Donald Trump among the American people is really an F,” Enten summarized, adding that if any more pain is caused by the shutdown, “that F could somehow become even worse.”
