Andrew Tate seems to claim straight men with girlfriends are … gay
Photo #7883 November 28 2025, 08:15

Self-described “misogynist influencer” Andrew Tate seemingly may have just taken his misogynistic content to an unhinged new level – but did he actually say it is gay for straight men to have girlfriends?

Tate, who is facing rape and human-trafficking charges alongside his brother Tristan, is a former professional kickboxer but is best known as an internet personality who flaunts his lavish lifestyle and promotes misogynistic ideologies around the so-called “manosphere”.

There has been wide-ranging criticism of Tate’s impact on young boys and their positive views of his sexist and homophobic content which is littered with conspiracy theories.

In recent days an image, which looks like a screenshot of a post from Tate’s account, has been shared around social media and amassed swathes of commentary and millions of likes.

The post, which was allegedly shared on 22 November, reads: “Let me make it loud and clear. If you’re a straight man with a girlfriend in 2025, you’re gay.”

However, a scroll through Tate’s account and it is clear to see the post does not appear on that date. It certainly could have been deleted, but PinkNews has been unable to independently verify if it ever existed at all.

Tate is no stranger to controversy around his social media posts. In the past, he has courted backlash for his posts, shared on Elon Musk’s platform X, in which he has described the haka – a traditional ceremonial dance used by New Zealand’s Māori people and is used by the country’s sports teams before matches – as “gay” and claimed heterosexual men who have sex with women for pleasure are “gay”.

“Oh my pee pee feels good this is great! In fact you are 40 with less than five children you’re probably gay,” he wrote in the latter post.

Further to this, Tate previously also accused YouTube star Mr Beast of being part of a “psyop” by supporting his trans friend and collaborator Kris Tyson.

However, Tate has also been subject to fake news, where posts he did not write – but read like something he would say – have been attributed to him.

“Every true alpha male should have at least a few men in his inner circle [who] will provide him physical release (hand or mouth only) so he doesn’t feel compelled to get distracted by a woman,” the faux post reads. “This is the only way that society can defeat the LGBTQ+ agenda worldwide.”

In recent years, there has been an increasing influx in faux social media posts attributed to notable figures about divisive issues, including things to do with the LGBTQ+ community. PinkNews recently identified a wave of posts which were particularly focused on trans inclusion in sports, with fake quotes attributed to notable athletes and cross-posted across different Facebook pages for max reach and engagement.

PinkNews cannot prove whether the post attributed to Tate was ever real in the first place but, if it was not, then it is possible the individual/s who created it did so for one nefarious reason or another, unconcerned with the impact such divisive, misogynistic and homophobic narratives could have on gay communities.
