Sophia Hutchins, the 29-year-old MAGA supporting transgender woman who was once rumored to be the girlfriend of right-wing trans conservative millionaire Caitlyn Jenner, recently died in an accident while driving an all-terrain vehicle (ATV) near Jenner’s condo in Malibu, California.

Hutchins died in a July 2 crash around 11:30 a.m. local time after accidentally rear-ending another car while speeding in an ATV. Investigators said that Hutchins’ ATV hit the bumper of a gray 2016 Mazda 6, which catapulted her and the ATV down a 350-foot ravine, Page Six reported. The vehicle landed on top of an upside-down vehicle that had previously crashed in the same spot. Hutchins was pronounced dead on the scene, with no other people having sustained any lethal or non-lethal injuries.

“It looked like she tried to maneuver to go around it, but she was going too fast and just ended up clipping the rear end of that Mazda, causing her to veer off and go off the cliff there,” Sergeant Eduardo Saucedo of the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department told The Daily Mail last Saturday.

Saucedo said no one will know whether alcohol or other drugs played a role in the fatal accident until the toxicology report comes in from Hutchins’ autopsy.

Hutchins worked for the transphobic right-wing media outlet Fox News and was a board member of the Log Cabin Republicans, a self-proclaimed group for LGBTQ+ conservatives that actively opposes trans civil rights. She also repeatedly supported the current president during his 2024 re-election campaign — the president has since taken multiple steps to eradicate trans people from all forms of civic life.

Jenner and Hutchins met through their mutual hairstylist in 2015. Hutchins said Jenner’s coming out as trans in 2015 inspired her own transition. In 2017, Hutchins began living with Jenner, eventually becoming her personal manager. Hutchins appeared in multiple episodes of Jenner’s E! reality series I Am Cait and served as CEO and director of the Caitlyn Jenner Foundation.

Hutchins and Jenner had been spotted out and about together on numerous occasions, including at the Los Angeles International Airport while they headed to Cabo San Lucas, Mexico. Some media outlets, like Radar Online, reported that Hutchins was Jenner’s girlfriend, whereas others, like the Daily Mail, reported that they are just friends.

In 2024, Hutchins denied the relationship rumors while misgendering and deadnaming Jenner to her 246,000 Instagram followers.

When reacting to a 2019 tabloid story that claimed that Hutchins and Jenner were planning on having a baby together, Hutchins called the tabloid’s claim “fake news,” saying, “Uhh, Caitlyn is my client. Caitlyn is also a very very good friend, of course. But [us] to become moms? What the hell? I mean, come on… good grief…. I’m not into Caitlyn and … I think Caitlyn, [deadname] whatever you want to call her, him has enough kids.”

In a follow-up video addressing the claim once more, Hutchins said, “I’m not really sure how the guys I’m dating are going to respond either if they see that [tabloid news story]. Gosh, I’m not having a baby with anyone, let alone my client who is a transgender. I mean, my god, what the f**k? Ugh.”

In another quote cited by Us magazine, Hutchins said, “Caitlyn is a parent to me. I have said that a million times…. It is a parental, familial relationship. I feel so blessed and humbled to be a part of such an amazing family and that she treats me like a daughter…. I feel blessed that we are able to work together. There’s no hanky panky. I feel like I’ve been saying that for the past five years.”

Ten years ago, Jenner was involved in a fatal, four-car accident while towing an ATV behind her Cadillac Escalade. Jenner’s Escalade pushed a 70-year-old woman’s Lexus into an oncoming Hummer, killing the woman and injuring. five family members, including two children, riding in the Hummer.
