MAGA commentator Candace Owens has responded to French First Lady Brigitte Macron’s defamation lawsuit over the conspiracy theorist’s year-long crusade to “prove” Macron is a transgender woman.
Owens devoted 30 minutes of her most recent podcast episode to defending her actions. Speaking directly to Macron, she claimed, “The whole world believes you’re a man,” and “If what I was saying was ridiculous… this wouldn’t have gone viral.”

“Speaking to Charlie Kirk is never a good idea,” Bob said of Newsom’s decision to host the anti-LGBTQ+ MAGA influencer on his podcast.
Owens claimed Macron is actually trying to defame her with a lawsuit that is littered with lies. “Yes, Brigitte, you are out of your effing mind,” Owens said, adding, “You’re defaming me because you don’t want people to continue to watch the series.”

The suit mentioned the numerous conspiracy theories Owens has publicly promoted. Owens vehemently denied that she ever did.
She decried Macron’s allegation that she pushed the antisemitic blood libel myth that Jewish people drink the blood of Christian children, calling it “the most absurd lie that you could possibly put in a lawsuit.”
“I said that Jews are going around drinking the blood of Christian children? Are you out of your mind?” she said.
And yet, the Anti-Defamation League (ADL) has confirmed Owens promoted this myth. The group’s page on Owens says she made the claim while discussing a Jewish man named Leo Frank, who was lynched in 1913 after he was falsely accused of murder. Owens reportedly said Frank saw incest and pedophilia “as the sacramental rites and they would commit these acts, things that would normally be termed ‘blood libel’ were actually happening.”
And last year, Owens liked a post on X in which someone wrote to a Rabbi, “Are you drunk on Christian blood again?”
Owens also brought up the fact that the lawsuit mentioned she sold t-shirts with a fake Time Magazine “Man of the Year” cover featuring a photo of Macron. Owens laughed and said she will be restocking the shirt and selling one thousand more.
“We’re not gonna shut up,” she declared. “You’re not going to bully us. Frankly, I find this all to be irresistible and delicious.”
“You have definitively met your match. I cannot stand corruption.”
She concluded her rant with a string of insults. “You wanted to smear me, and it’s not going to work… We’re revolting against the perverts that run the world, and I want to be very clear here, I count you among them. I think you’re sick, I think you’re disgusting, and I am fully prepared to take on this battle on behalf of the entire world.”
The “relentless and unjustified smear campaign” to which the lawsuit refers began in June 2024, when Owens glommed onto a wild speculation — originated by two women who were initially found liable for defamation — claiming Brigitte Macron was actually her own real-life brother, Jean-Michel Trogneux, who transitioned into a woman. (Trogneux was present at the women’s defamation trial.) The decision was overturned on appeal this month, though Macron reportedly plans to take the case to a higher court.
Owen went on to create an eight-part podcast series in which she “investigated” Brigitte Macron’s gender identity.
The lawsuit reportedly claims that Owens’s obsession with their family has “caused tremendous damage to the Macrons,” causing “global humiliation” and “turning their lives into fodder for profit-driven lies.”
“Owens published the series and related X posts with reckless disregard for the truth,” the lawsuit states. “Owens was repeatedly presented with credible, verifiable evidence disproving her claims — including documentation, public records, and direct outreach from the Macrons. Instead of correcting the record, she doubled down… Owens, fully aware of the truth, has not only declined to retract her statements but has actively expanded on them.”
In August 2024, Owens said she’d stake her “professional reputation” on the claim that Brigitte Macron is a “perverted” transgender woman who was a man when she met and raped the French president when he was 14.
Macron and Brigitte first met when he was 15 and she was a 40-year-old instructor at his high school. Years later, Brigitte divorced her husband, the father of her three children, and married the future president.
Owens – who is too toxic even for far-right site The Daily Wire, which fired her over her overt antisemitism last year – also once used her lies about the Macrons to help push a wild theory that a cabal of Satanists is masquerading as Jews and conspiring to promote incest and child sexual abuse in an effort create a generation of psychopathic world leaders.
Owens has also claimed that trauma and social contagion are responsible for homosexuality. She once accused So You Think You Can Dance judge JoJo Siwa of pretending to be gay for clicks. She also said she’d beat her own grandchild if they came out as trans and falsely associated trans people with mass shootings in Memphis and Texas.
