Christian commentator says trans people should be “erased from the earth” in vicious SCOTUS rant
December 06 2024, 08:15

Anti-trans extremist and far-right provocateur Matt Walsh called for trans people to be “entirely erased from the earth” at an anti-trans rally on Tuesday outside the Supreme Court.

Oral arguments began that morning in the case of United States v. Skrmetti, which concerns Tennessee’s ban on gender-affirming care for trans youth. The decision will likely determine the future of gender-affirming care access nationwide.

Marjorie Taylor Greene booed as she raged against trans rights. She blamed “Satan.”
She was saying that trans kids should be denied medical care because “God created male and female in his image.” The crowd was not on board.

Walsh joined other anti-trans advocates like Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) in speaking outside the court as trans rights advocates tried to drown out their noise (The New Republic reports that there were roughly four times as many pro-trans protestors as anti-trans protestors).

“Children have a right to be protected from all of those people over there who want to harm them and damage them and destroy them, and they will be,” Walsh said.

“So to the trans activists over there who are claiming this is all about the rights of children, I say again: Yes, you’re right, it is. They have a right to be protected from you. Children have a right to be protected from all of those people over there who want to harm them and damage them and destroy them.”

“They are gonna lose,” he continued. “They are losing right now. We are not going to let them harm our children. This case is just the beginning of the fight. It is not the end. We are not gonna rest until every child is protected, until trans ideology is entirely erased from the earth. That’s what we’re fighting for, and we will not stop until we achieve it.”

He also said, “There’s no such thing as a ‘trans kid.’ That doesn’t exist. Those kids are not trans. They are confused, and their confusion has been exploited by quacks and abusers. They are abuse victims. They are not trans kids.”

Walsh, the author of Church of Cowards, is known for creating anti-trans documentaries and spreading hateful rhetoric online. He has advocated against no-fault divorce and has compared raising gay children to human trafficking and cutting off arms. He has also been accused of defending people who rape children.

Additionally, Walsh has said that “two men shouldn’t be allowed to adopt,” has opposed any form of diversity in the Republican National Convention, and has stopped at nothing to attack trans people in every capacity, even going so far as to star in a feature-length comedy film written to mock trans women and girls who are fighting for the right to participate in sports as their gender.

On November 7, 2022, Walsh told conservative podcaster Joe Rogan that homosexuality is a result of humans being a “fallen species” and that it comes from “our fallen human nature” and “proclivities towards sin” while explaining why he opposes same-sex marriage.
