A political writer and podcaster eviscerated conservative CNN commentator Scott Jennings for downplaying both the atrocities associated with the late child sex trafficker Jeffrey Epstein and the current administration’s failure to meet the deadline to release the Epstein Files. The Department of Justice (DOJ) is a month past the deadline set by Congress for releasing the entire set of investigatory files. So far, the DOJ has released less than 1%.

Leigh McGowan, who goes by Politics Girl on social media and aims to help more Americans engage in and understand politics, could not contain her disgust when Jennings admitted the administration should follow the law but then scoffed, “But let’s not get our knickers in a twist here.”

“Yeah, let’s not get our knickers in a twist over child rape,” McGowan snapped back, Mocking Jennings’ casual attitude toward the files with sarcastic laughter.

“Why are you talking like that? It’s insane,” she continued. “Like, it’s insane. The Epstein Files is a multinational, multigenerational child and woman sex trafficking ring. So your attitude right now, you’re sort of, ‘Well, shucks devil be gone,’ is just horrifying to me.”

Jennings responded that he respected her strong opinion on the matter and said he thinks “They should do it as fast as they can.”

“I have a strong opinion about it because it is a disgusting policy that they are doing this,” she said. “They are hiding it. It is not the behavior of innocent people. And everything that is in these files is, it could bring an entire house down. And if it has to, it has to. If it brings down Democrats, bring them down. If it brings down Republicans, bring them down. If it brings down princes, world leaders, Hollywood people, bring them down. But what it feels like right now is that there’s a giant cabal of people that do not have to listen to the law.”
