Former Mr. Gay UK sentenced for slaying & cooking his male partner
July 10 2025, 08:15

Anthony Morley, who became the first-ever winner of the Mr. Gay UK male beauty pageant in 1993, has been sentenced to 30 years imprisonment for the October 2008 slaying, dismembering, and eating of Damian Oldfield’s remains. The presiding Judge James Stewart called the case one of the most gruesome he has ever encountered.

Morley, who was age 36 at the time of the slaying, met the then-30-year-old Oldfield in 2007. Oldfield worked as an ad salesperson for a gay publication titled Bent, according to The Mirror US.

“Never been really properly gay,” Morley texted Oldfield at the time. “Tried being bi, tried being straight but never been a hundred per cent happy. Maybe one day I will find happiness.”

The two men went to Morley’s home, where he cooked them dinner, and they watched the 2005 gay cowboy romantic drama Brokeback Mountain. Then, while in bed, Morley sliced Oldfield’s throat and continued hacking away at him with a knife.

Police found that Morley sliced a nine-inch section of skin and tissue, including the nipple, from Oldfield’s chest; an additional eight-inch piece from his thigh; six pieces of cooked flesh from a chopping board; and a chewed piece of flesh from a kitchen garbage bag. Morley seasoned the cooked flesh with herbs and olive oil.

Morley then walked to a nearby takeout restaurant, wearing a blood-drenched bathrobe and sandals, and quietly asked employees to call police while he waited outside. He told police that he had slain Oldfield after the man tried to violate him in bed. At the police station, Morley reportedly said, “I cooked him a nice meal. I said to take it slow, why did he do that?”

In 2001, Oldfield appeared on a local dating show called God’s Gift. On the show, he stripped, ate whipped cream out of a man’s navel, played a flute using his nose, and then deep-throated a sausage while on a video-recorded date after the show’s conclusion.
