November 11 2025, 08:15 Joss Way-ar Sangngern and Fluke Gawin Caskey, better-known collectively as JossGawin, have quickly become one of the most-popular on-screen couples, in the Thai Boys’ Love (Thai BL) genre.
Their performances as vampire Mark and his new friend Tong, respectively, in fantasy series My Golden Blood have attracted global attention not just for their undeniable chemistry but also as part of the growing space Thai BL dramas are carving out in LGBTQ+ media representation. Shipping culture has been re-ignited by the duo.
Interviews and behind-the-scenes clips reveal a playful, supportive connection that fans have found as compelling as their on-screen romance.
Last month, the pair touched down in London for their first UK-based fan meeting, and were met by an adoring crowd at LGBTQ+ venue, the Clapham Grand.
“Right place, right time,” Joss tells PinkNews when asked about fans’ enthusiasm, but theirs is the kind of chemistry that can’t be faked.

“[My Golden Blood] is basically two people falling in love. And, it doesn’t matter which gender they are, it’s a good romance story,” says Gawin. “I’m happy to be a part of the community and if someone sees us as representing the community, then I’m happy with it because I hope it’s a positive thing.”
Joss echoes the sentiment. “What Thailand and [production company and talent agency] GMMTV has been doing with [the] Boys’ Love genre, has been normalising this community. I’m happy to be part of it, to see the growth and normalisation.
“We’re very proud to be a part of that movement, that community, and that we can show the variety and the differences, that we can be different, but still understand each other and support each other. At the end of the day, we are human and we should be kind to each other.”
This unspoken rhythm has lifted their portrayals above the genre’s occasional tropes. While many BL dramas lean into aesthetic pairing, Joss and Gawin bring a richness that feels lived-in. The joy is earned.
It’s no secret that Joss has been a fan of Gawin, who earned the title of The Voice of GMMTV, from the very start. The duo have taken the shipping aspect of being an official BL couple in their stride.

“I feel really lucky to be working with this guy because, before My Golden Blood, we didn’t really know each other that well,” Gawin continues. “To connect with him, we have a lot of things in common.” They share a love of sport.
“And we can talk about all about our stuff. We’ve been getting along really well and I’m happy that it shows on and off screen. [If] people can see that, then I’m happy, and hopefully [we have] a long way to go.”
Joss agrees, saying: “I’m grateful to be working with him. People start to recognise us as not just as Mark and Tong but as JossGawin. We appreciate that but, at the end of the day, what matters to me is what’s between us. Our relationship, our friendship, is what I care about the most. What matters to me is what we have, and as long as we understand each other, we have our boundaries, and hang out with each other, and we still have the same goal, same values.”
According to The Nation, the BL industry is projected to generate 4.9 billion baht (£115 million) this year, powered by international streaming audiences and a growing appetite for authentic LGBTQ+ stories.

Joss has “always believed our series would work and that everything would be fine”, Gawin adds. “That belief helped keep me going, it made me more comfortable about everything we were doing. In the end, everything turned out better than I expected. It was kind of surprising for me but not for him, he’s always been a believer.
“Over time, as we continued working together, I noticed that he became more flexible, both with work and with our relationship. I really appreciate that because I didn’t expect him to adapt that way. Our personalities are quite different but that’s actually what makes things work between us.”
Following JossGawin Invincible Fancon in Bangkok in September, and with new GMMTV series Only Friends: Dream On, about drama students, on the way, the pair are going from strength to strength. “It was fun to play a younger character and bring that inner child in me,” Joss says.

The two stars also hinted at more projects next year, with Gawin sharing his excitement about working on his music.
“I really want to write my own stuff. I’ve been practicing guitar a lot, been experimenting with music. My dream is to have a studio of my own. I’ve become more passionate about acting and [am] excited to do more of that.”
As Thai BL continues to grow, JossGawin’s partnership feels like a milestone: proof that authentic connection can cross languages, borders and expectations.
